MGA incubator and delegated authority specialist DA Strategy has supported maritime technology company Ceto in launching its Lloyd’s-backed marine MGA following the business securing approval as a Lloyd’s Coverholder and Appointed Representative.
Ceto’s MGA combines marine underwriting expertise with real-time vessel telemetry and predictive analytics to support a more dynamic and preventative approach to marine risk assessment. DA Strategy supported the business through the Lloyd’s Coverholder approval process and helped establish the MGA’s operational, governance and regulatory framework ahead of launch.

Charles Rowley, CEO, DA Strategy, said:

“Ceto is a great example of the next generation of MGA – bringing technology and real-time operational insight to bring a genuinely differentiated proposition to the marine market.

Our role at DA Strategy was to support the team through the regulatory approval process and help establish the operational, governance and business planning framework needed to launch successfully as a Lloyd’s Coverholder. That allowed the Ceto team to stay focused on developing the underwriting proposition aligned with the technology that makes the business so innovative.

It has been a pleasure working alongside the team and seeing the MGA successfully go live in the Lloyd’s market.”

Tony Holdrew, CEO, Ceto, added:

“Launching our MGA was a significant milestone in our mission to modernise marine insurance through connected, data-led underwriting.

For decades, marine hull underwriting has relied heavily on static snapshots such as vessel age, periodic surveys and historic claims data. By combining underwriting expertise with continuous machinery monitoring and predictive analytics, we can help insurers and shipowners make more informed decisions based on how vessels are actually operating in real time.

DA Strategy played an important role in helping us navigate the Lloyd’s approval process and establish the framework needed to bring this proposition to market – thanks to Charles and the team.”
