The delegated authority (DA) market is expected to expand further in 2024 with DA becoming an even more effective and relevant method of distribution that allows underwriters to access the expertise necessary to effectively expand their portfolios.
In this vlog, Director, Charles Rowley, discusses how DA Strategy is supporting carriers, brokers and MGAs in the London market to develop their delegated authority portfolios; the trends impacting the market; and his call to action for the market in the year ahead.
“A key priority for participants in the delegated authority market is how they can improve their data; how they can improve the quality of that data; and how they can make data more relevant to the ultimate profitability of their portfolio of business – and do that in conjunction with their partners” Charles observes.
He adds: “It is also important to be thinking about how you can strengthen the relationship structure so that it extends beyond just underwriting to claims handling, actuarial and data as well. MGAs are increasingly looking for carriers who can provide that type of breadth and depth and carriers are looking for MGAs who have that broader relationship and depth of skills.”
